Photos from the canal down by Oxford Road, opposite the Cornerhouse. A potential site for swan pedalo activity?
Its a short run from Oxford road, down to Rain Bar, with its beer garden, and then some locks, and a little stretch down to Deansgate. Its not too clean at the top end, but it is accessible and people walk up and down quite often, and the bar is obviously a big pull on a sunny day. Sadly though I did recently see a dead fish, followed by a dead cat in floating along. Related deaths
Last week, Grace the Swan completed her 127 mile journey along the Leeds Liverpool canal, with BBC Radio Leeds presenters Adam pope and Katherine Hannah at the helm. The team were welcomed into Granary Wharf by regional news crews and hundreds of supporters. In all, the Sport Relief pedalo challenge raised over £50,000 for charity. Massive well done to the BBC team, Alison, Adam and Hannah, the Swandeliers who helped out now and then along the way, and of course, Grace herself.
On Wed 14th March, Grace the Swan set sail finally on her 127 mile long journey on the Leeds Liverpool canal to raise money for Sport Relief,
